Bathing comfort cannot be overlooked when investing in an outdoor sauna barrel. The diameter of the barrel and the bench/backrest configuration must be considered. Barrels with a small diameter may be priced lower due to reduced material, but the tradeoffs are door height, bench comfort, and headroom. Smaller diameter barrels have a tighter arc which can create seating posture challenges, impact standing upright, and require one to duck upon entry and exit. ERGO Series Sauna Barrels benefit from a 6’5” interior height. Due to its large diameter, benches can be ergonomically contoured and formfitting. The generous barrel arc can support an expansive and arched backrest for true lumbar support. Wood thickness continues with ergonomically crafted benches and backrests made from Thermo-Aspen, 1.1” thick and 3.5” wide—nearly 50% thicker than most on the market.

Despite a simple installation process, the ERGO-Series barrels are packed with innovation. Built to thrive in wet environments, they feature 1-7/8” wide and 1/8” thick stainless steel barrel bands that compress the staves to create a sealed wellness space. A watertight DIY black shingle kit with drip edges helps manage rain effectively. Dual floor drains provide water evacuation—one under the heater for water splashes and one near the entrance for pool or cold plunge water. Even if the sauna shifts out of level, water drainage is handled.
Illumination – Inside and Out
Only waterproof and low-voltage LED lighting is used to safely enhance your sauna experience. SaunaLife includes a white LED lighting system that is Wi-Fi app-based and lets you adjust the ambiance before entering. A wireless handheld remote is also included. The white LED fixture is IP67 rated, dotless, and provides a smooth, glowing light. The system can be expanded up to four fixtures and is compatible with the E SCONCE+ and E MOOD lighting upgrades for a truly immersive sauna environment.
